What is Knee Hockey?

Rumoured to have been around for decades, knee hockey — also called "mini sticks" — has been passed from older siblings to younger ones in basements, hotel hallways, and living rooms. It’s hockey stripped to its purest form: no skates, no ice, just fun.

Who Can Play

Anyone. It's more fun when you involve everyone (e.g., parents, siblings, friends, etc.) regardless of any hockey experience. The immediate reaction tends to be endless laughter for newcomers.

Suggested Gear

- Mini sticks (any brand — Bauer, CCM, or your custom curve)
- A soft foam or plastic ball
- Mini nets or cardboard boxes — creativity counts
- Knee pads (optional)
- Goalie helmets (optional) — because they look cool!

Play Anywhere

Basements, garages, hallways, dorm rooms, patios — all fair game. Any open space becomes a rink. Just clear the breakables and dive in.

Rules? Kinda.

Every house has its own rules — offsides aren't a thing, and trash talk or "chirping" is common. Set a win condition: first to 10, best of 3, shootout, or sudden death. Don’t like the rules? Make your own. That’s part of the fun.
